An important part of our faith is putting it into action to serve those around us in need. So, Gator Wesley offers its students opportunities to be involved in the lives of those around them in the Gainesville community as well as others around our nation and around the world. Some students have even gone on to pursue missions trips and positions of their own.
Over the past few years we have been involved with local organizations such as the St. Francis House, Pleasant Place, Habitat for Humanity, and the L'Arche Community in Jacksonville. We have also taken part in national and international campaigns such as Relay for Life, Invisible Children, Nothing But Nets, and World Vision.
Spring Break 2010 Mission Trip The mission team had an amazing time on our Spring Break Mission Trip to Henderson Settlement in Frakes, KY! (www.hendersonsettlement.com). Henderson Settlement is in southeast Kentucky, nestled in the Appalachian Mountain and in one of the poorest areas of the country. This community reaches out to its residents through various ministries including home repair, a thrift store, school, library, craft shop, youth ministry, and fellowship lunch. Thank you so much for your prayers and support of the team!
Past Trips We try to take a trip each semester to share the love of Christ with people through service outside of our immediate community. During Christmas Break 2006, Spring Break 2007, and Spring Break 2008 we sent work teams to perform hurricane relief in Mississippi. During spring break 2009, we took 2 trips: inner city mission in Washington D.C. and a contemplative trip to a monastery. During the summer of 2009, Pastor Dave led some of our students on a pilrimage to South Africa. If you would like information, email Pastor Dave at dave@gatorwesley.com.

Gator Wesley is making a committment to try and be a more "green" organization. No matter your viewpoint, God has called us to be stewards of the earth and its resources. Below is a list of practices we have implemented to be a more socially conscious ministry.
We recycle- paper bins can be found in the office, and bins for cans and bottles can be found in the Wesley House.
We reuse- our praise band uses rechargable batteries, our dishes and cookware for Sunday's breakfast are mostly reusable.
We buy fair trade- the coffee and tea available on Sunday morning are certified fair trade.
